BMF Rally Peterborough - 17/05/2008
The annual British Motorcycle Federation Show returned to Peterborough's East of England Showground for the weekend 16th to 19th May 2008. Despite poor weather yet again (British Spring time as usual) 73,000 hardy souls attended the opening outdoor event of the British motorcycle season.

Every motorcycle marque was well represented although the static displays seemed a little lowkey this year but that was made up for by the events in the main show arena, which included the "Flying Gunners" (Royal Artillery Motorcycle Display Team) who performed amazing stunts and demonstrated precision riding in the pouring rain.

Ken Fox's Wall of Death and and The Extreme Globe Riders show's wowed the crowds throughout the weekend with thrilling gravity defying displays. For those bikers into motorcycle racing of all types there were exciting Flat Track races and even highly competative examples of tuned up moped racing on the central cinder oval in what was accurately titled as "Moped Mayhem". Kid's were able to get in on the fun, by riding junior Quads on a mini circuit watched by grinning parents.

The Custom Bike show was well attended with entries from as far away as Poland. Luckily for that long distance entrant he won Best Trike with his Porche powered creation. Lucky Buck's motorcycles scooped a trophy and a cash prize for their tribute to Billy's bike in the Film legend Easyrider, (Nice one, Buck).
The judges had a very difficult time this year with some outstanding examples of engineering design and mindblowing paintwork, its good to see the UK can still build a mean machine.

Motorcycle clubs from far and wide were represented by a huge range of display stands and hospitality tents that were recruiting new members and wellcoming old friends with a coffee or a beer!
Over the weekend live music was available in the main Exhibition Hall from a wide range of cover bands and original artistes, headline act on the Saturday night was Punk Band "The Damned"
