| HOG Rutland Chapter evening visit to the ACE Cafe, London - 26/06/2008 |

For many reading this writeup, the "Ace Cafe" has been a second home for most of the last 70 years it has been open, and nothing I write here will be new or do it justice, they already know what I am talking about.
But, for many of you, particularly those biker friends from overseas, the world famous Ace Cafe London is a mecca, a must see and something that cannot be missed.
This happened to be my first visit and it lived up to all my expectations and the fact that it was "Harley night" made extra special. Riding as I was with a group of fellow members of the HOG Rutland Chapter, made for a great evening from start to finish even though the heavens opened on the return 90+ mile journey and we all got soaked, nothing could ruin a brillient night out.
The recipe for success was simple, take an absolute Icon for the British "cafe racer" bike scene of years gone by, (when I was but a lad in short trousers). Add 450-500 Harley Davidson devotee's from across the south of England, never mind London. (Many had travelled in excess of 100 miles, just to be there for Harley night) Then mix in the secret ingredient that is the "ACE Cafe" atmosphere and you have a great few hours of total motorcycle enjoyment.
The only disappointment I had, was because the weather started to turn very rapidly for the worse. I could not do the ACE Cafe justice with the photo's I took.
Never mind, I will simply have to go back again. FANTASTIC! I can not wait. |
